Emergency Situations

National Emergency Services

Although we hope that you will never have to use it, the national telephone number for all emergency services in Australia including Ambulance, Fire, and Police is 000.

000 calls are answered by an operator who will ask which service you require – Police, Fire or Ambulance.

The operator will ask you some questions to gather the required information and will arrange for an appropriate response from the local Police, Ambulance or Fire Service, depending on your situation.

All calls made to 000 are free.

Non Emergencies

If your situation is not an emergency but you need to get in touch with the ambulance, fire or police you should search for the number of your local station and call there directly. For non-emergency police related matters, you may also choose to visit your local police station to speak directly to an officer.
