The CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care focuses on the knowledge and skills required of early childhood educators who are responsible for maintaining healthy, safe and caring environments for children and for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services.

To be issued the qualification CHC30121Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care you must be assessed as competent in all 17 units of competency which includes 15 core units and 2 elective units.
In order to provide you with a truly engaging learning experience, we offer training with a combination of face to face and online study. During class time, our highly experienced and knowledgeable trainers will train you on the theoretical aspects of your future occupation as well as assist you in the development of the essential practical skills you would require to work in an early childhood education and care facility.

ENTRY
Requirements
Rhodes International College offers an open and inclusive learning environment for all students. However, there are some eligibility criteria that you are required to meet before you can be accepted into the course.
- You will need to be aged 18 years or over
- You will need to be able to obtain current Working with Children
Check (required before commencement of work placement)
Entry to this course requires:
- Successful completion of Australian year 10 or equivalent; OR
- Students with no formal qualifications are required to successfully complete the LLN test. Future students will be made aware of the specific skills and knowledge which are required to successfully complete the course.
- You will need to be able to obtain current Working with Children Check (required before commencement of work placement)
As an International Students you will be required to have an English ability at the IELTS 5.5 with no band less than 5.0 (International English Language Testing System) level or higher, since written and oral forms of communication are an important part of the course. IELTS is the preferred test for English proficiency; however, results of other testing systems may also be accepted. Students must show certified proof of their proficiency or proof of having passed an English Language Test in the last two years.
You will need to have a reasonable level of physical fitness in order to work with children. Bending, reaching, stretching, kneeling and lifting or carrying children are common movements required by early childhood educators. As part of the course, you must also complete the unit HLTAID004 – Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting which requires you to demonstrate Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) continuously for a minimum of 2 minutes while kneeling on the floor.
You will need to have intermediate level computer skills and will need to provide your own Laptop and/or tablet that is compatible with Australian power voltage requirements to use in class, for online study and/or for self-study. As the learning at RIC includes Online learning, we recommend you have appropriate level of internet connectivity, audio visual features available within your Laptop and/or Tablet which you may like to use for your online learning.
