The BSB50620 Diploma of Marketing and Communication focuses on the knowledge and skills required of inspiring professionals with the vision of pursuing a career in the dynamic marketing and communication space.
BSB50620 Diploma of Marketing & Communication
To be issued the qualification BSB50620 Diploma of Marketing and Communication you must be assessed as competent in all 12 units of competency which includes 5 core units and 7 elective units.
The elective units of competency have been chosen to provide you with a broad set of skills including more in depth technical skills such as market research planning and budget management. Undertaking these electives will enable you to move into more senior marketing roles within an organisation and learn the necessary knowledge and skillset to implement a marketing project from scratch.
Structured learning during the course is supported by industry case studies and real world examples. Whilst this course is at times demanding and requires a significant amount of dedicated effort, it is a rewarding and enjoyable one for those who are passionate about marketing and improving their business acumen.
In order to provide you with a truly engaging learning experience, we offer training with a combination of face to face and online study. During class time, our highly experienced and knowledgeable trainers will train you on the theoretical aspects as well as assist you in the development of the essential practical skills you require, to become a future marketing executive.

ENTRY
Requirements
Rhodes International College offers an open and inclusive learning environment for all students. However, there are some eligibility criteria that you are required to meet before you can be accepted into the course.
- You will need to be aged 18 years or over
- Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs (if required)
• Have completed BSB42415 Certificate IV in Marketing and Communication, or
• BSBCRT412 Articulate, present and debate ideas;
• BSBMKG433 Undertake marketing activities
• BSBMKG435 Analyse consumer behaviour;
• BSBMKG439 Develop and apply knowledge of communications industry;
• BSBWRT411 Write complex documents.
• Equivalent competencies are predecessors to these units, which have been mapped as equivalent, or
• Have two years equivalent full-time relevant work experience.
Students are required to provide their own laptop or any other smart device that is equipped with Microsoft Office 365 software or Office 365 and have intermediate computer skills.
International students must:
· Have a valid IELTS* score of 5.5 or equivalent with no less than 5.0 in any band.
· IELTS is the preferred test for English proficiency; however, results of other testing systems
· may also be accepted. Students must show certified proof of their proficiency or proof of
· having passed an English Language Test in the last two years.
· English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
– Cambridge First Certificate of English – Grade C (162-168); or
– TOEFL Paper based (PBT) score of 525; or
– TOEFL Internet based (IBT) score 70; or
– TOEIC (list/Read-620; Speak/Writ-260); or
– PTE Score 42.
– Studied for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or
– Undertaken at least 2 years of continuous study in accredited courses in Australia; or
· Been awarded a Certificate IV or higher qualification from an Australian education provider with a minimum study period of 12 months; or
· Successful completion of an English Placement Test.

COURSE
STRUCTURE
The course will be delivered in four 10- week terms, including work placement.

- Term 1: 31st January to 10th April
- Holidays: 11th April to 24th April
- Term 2: 25th April to 3rd July
- Holidays: 4th July to 17th July
- Term 3: 18th July to 25th September
- Holidays: 26th September to 9th October
- Term 4: 10th October to 19th December
DELIVERY

Teaching/Classroom:
- 15 hours face to face per week over 2 days on campus (7.5 hours x 2 days and one hour break)
Online Study:
5 hours per week, this can be done on campus or off-site
Self Study:
- 10 hours per week
